Who We Are
Eileen M. Smiles
Creative Director, American Decorative Arts Specialist
Eileen’s American antiques gallery in Woodbury, Connecticut, that she runs with her business partner, David Schorsch, has been featured in Architectural Digest, and her booth at the Winter Show in New York City has been featured in The New York Times. After decades of handling unique works of art and antiques, Eileen decided to create a collection of wallpapers and textiles inspired by the works of art she has handled over the years. She has taken her love of antique objects and her passion for art and pattern to create modern designs that embrace the traditions of historical decorative arts. Eileen has master’s degrees in The History of Decorative Arts and in Early Childhood Education, and she has written articles and books about American folk art. Most importantly, she is the mother of two children, three dogs, two cats, and three rabbits.
